Thirteen Years In The Making

You know that spine tingling sensation you get when the bass is about to drop?

Your heart starts beating faster, the music climaxes, then the bass drops! It's a dizzying, euphoric feeling.  

I first discovered my love for EDM when I was around 14. I was usually sitting at my desktop computer in my room alone listening to Avicii and Skrillex.

When I stumbled across 'Blue Foundation- Eyes on Fire- Zed's Dead remix' I was hooked. It's still one of my all time favorite songs. 

When I was growing up, I always felt like I didn't fit in with my small rural North Carolina town, and definitely not at school.

I kept quiet and to myself and was never really outgoing because of that. But discovering this amazing music genre led to me going to music festivals.

My first festival was Imagine Music Festival. During Adventure Clubs set, I had a spine tingling moment where I looked at the lights, and looked around me at tens of thousands of beautiful people from all walks of life.

I realized I was a part of something bigger. They were joined together and treating each other with acceptance, kindness, and love.

I felt so welcomed, free, and confident.

It opened my eyes to how PLURR our community is. I didn't know these kind of people existed in the world. I felt like I fit in for the first time.

I found myself talking to strangers and meeting so many beautiful souls I would have never met otherwise. These strangers became my family.

For thirteen years I dreamed of going to EDC. When I finally walked through those gates, it was magical! I was home. I had made SO much kandi and was ready to trade it all to these wonderful people.

I never had dancing skills, but somehow when the music hit me I didn't care what I looked like, I knew no one was there to judge me.

I actually started to learn shuffling and it's been my newest obsession ever since! I love how fun and freeing it is, and I'm getting better at it!

Music is truly a powerful thing. I can be having the worst day and when I listen to EDM all my problems fade away. It's like therapy in a way. EDM and music festivals changed me.

I brought new confidence and openness from it to my every day life. All I want to do is share the PLURR vibes, and the joy my experiences have brought me, with the rest of the world.

I have passion and drive like I have never felt for anything else in my life to get even deeper into every aspect of this wonderful, amazing, incredible community I now call family.

So this is me, sharing it one soul at a time!
